Love Tennis Score & Stats

Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

Love Tennis is a tennis scoring app. Everything you score is kept on your phone. If you log in, your matches and a small profile also go to our server, so they can reach the other players and the people you choose. This page explains what leaves your phone, who can see it, and how to remove it.

Who we are

Love Tennis: Score & Stats ("Love Tennis", "the app") is published by Meridian Medicare Limited, Solan, India. Contact: naveenkgupta17@gmail.com.

Your account

You log in with Google or your mobile number. Scoring, voice, stats and reports work on your phone; your profile and the matches you share go through our server so your opponents receive them. On a phone used by more than one person, each account sees only its own matches.

Data that stays on your phone

The app keeps these in its private storage on your phone (and, if you use it, on your paired Wear OS watch). We do not receive them unless a later section says so.

The umpire voice uses your phone's own text-to-speech. PDF and text match reports are created on your phone and leave it only when you choose to share them, through the app you pick (for example WhatsApp).

Logging in

You log in with your Google account and then your mobile number, confirmed with a one-time SMS code. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which also sends the SMS codes. Your mobile number and email address are stored only in that sign-in system. They are never put in your profile and never shown to other players. A mobile number is required to share matches, because that is how a match finds the other players.

If you continue with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, to create your account and fill in your profile. You can change the name.

Your profile

Your profile holds the name shown in matches (up to 12 characters), your full name, city and country and your profile picture: the link to your Google picture if you logged in with Google, or a picture you chose yourself. It is stored on our server.

If you choose a picture from your gallery or take one with the camera, the app crops it on your phone to a small square (512 × 512 pixels) and uploads only that. You can change or remove it at any time from your profile. When you change or remove it, the old one is deleted.

Your profile is not public and cannot be searched. It can be seen only by you, by players you have accepted as friends, and by the parents and coach you have added who have accepted.

Matches

If you are logged in, matches you score are uploaded to our server. This is your own backup, so a new phone gets your matches back, and it is how a match reaches the other players in it who have an account.

A match can be seen by the players in it and by their accepted parents and coach. Matches are never public.

Deleting a match in the app removes it from your phone and your stats. The other players keep their copy, and the server copy stays for them. Matches you scored are deleted from the server when you delete your account.

Other players' mobile numbers

When you add an opponent or partner with their mobile number, the number is sent to our server so that the match can be linked to that person's account. If they are not on Love Tennis yet, we create a waiting account for the number, with the name you typed. When they log in with that number, the matches shared with them are already theirs.

The number is kept only in our sign-in system and is not shown to other players. The app limits how many numbers you can link in a day. If someone has added your number and you would rather we did not hold it, email us and we will delete it.

Friends

The first time a match arrives from a scorer you have not accepted, the app shows Accept or Block. If you accept, their matches count in your stats and you can see each other's profile. If you block, their matches leave your phone, no more arrive, and they are not told. Scoring a match against someone counts as accepting them.

Your friend list is kept on our server and can be read only by you.

Parents and coach

From your own account you can add up to two parents and one coach by mobile number. Each must accept in their own app. Until then you see Waiting to accept; afterwards you see Following. Either side can stop at any time.

A parent or coach who has accepted can see every match you are in, including the other players' names and the scores, as well as your stats and your profile.

The mobile numbers you type are stored on our server and shown back only to you. The link itself (the account ids, the role and whether it has been accepted) can be seen by you and by that parent or coach.

Age and children

Love Tennis is for players aged 13 and over. Players under 18 are asked for a parent's mobile number when they set up their profile. The parent is asked to accept, and then follows the player's matches as described above.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Voice scoring

If you switch on voice scoring, the microphone is used only while the scoring screen is open with voice on. Speech is turned into text on your phone by an offline speech engine (Vosk) that the app downloads once, in the language you choose (English, Spanish, German, French or Italian). In a match, audio never leaves your phone. The umpire's voice uses your phone's text-to-speech.

Practice sessions you choose to send. At the end of a practice match you may send the session to us for review. If you do, and leave "Include my voice" ticked (it is ticked unless you untick it), we also receive the short audio clips of the calls you made in that practice - one or two seconds each, practice calls only, never a real match. We use them only to improve recognition, they are readable only by us, and they are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Getting-started guide. Which of the six steps of 'How to best use this app' you have done, so your progress follows your account to another phone. Kept with your account and deleted with it.

Voice logs (off unless you say yes). When you first turn voice on, the app asks whether it may send voice logs. You can change your answer at any time in Voice settings or in Settings. If you say yes, we receive, for your first three matches scored by voice, the text of what the offline engine heard, with player names replaced by seats (A1, B1 ...), together with the app version, phone model, the kind of microphone (phone, Bluetooth or wired), the language and your voice settings. No audio. We use these only to improve recognition. They are kept on our server for 90 days and then deleted, or earlier if you delete your account.

On your phone only. The app keeps a text log of what the engine heard and, only if you switch it on, short audio clips of phrases that did not score. Both stay on your phone until you choose to share them.

Weather

The app can show the current weather. If you allow approximate location, the app reads your coarse location, rounds it to about 1 km and sends only the rounded coordinates to Open-Meteo, a third-party weather service, to fetch the conditions. Without permission it uses the city in your profile.

The rounded coordinates are kept on your phone only. The city and country found from them are saved to your profile, like any other profile edit. You can turn location off at any time in Android settings.

Feedback

If you send feedback from the app, we receive your message with the app version, phone model and Android version. It is read by the developer, who may reply to you in the app.

Invites and referrals

Every player has an invite code. When a new player joins through a code or link, or because someone shared a match with their number, we record who brought them (the referrer's account id). When the app is first installed, it reads the Google Play install referrer once, for the same purpose. This record is deleted with your account; an anonymous count of players invited remains.

Coach programme

A coach in India whom at least five players have accepted as their coach is a Verified Coach: other signed-in players see a badge on their profile. A Verified Coach earns points on the Premium payments of players they brought in (see Coach programme terms). For this we keep, on our server only: which payments earned points (the Google Play order id, the plan and the date, never card or bank details), the points and payouts, and - when the coach adds them for a payout - their PAN, the name on it and, optionally, a UPI id. These are used only to pay the coach and to deduct and report tax (TDS) as Indian law requires; PAN is shown in the app only masked. Other players never see a coach's points or payout details.

Advertising

On the free plan and during the free trial, the app shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner at the foot of the Home, Players and Match analysis screens, and on the free plan at most one full-screen ad every 15 minutes, before the analysis of a finished match. Never while you score a match. Premium and Coach accounts see no ads.

To show and count ads, Google AdMob collects your phone's advertising ID, your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with the ads. Google uses this as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We do not send Google your name, matches, stats or contacts.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings → Privacy → Ads.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) sends us a crash report: the stack trace, device model, Android version and app version. It contains no names and no match content.

Time in the app

While you are signed in, the app counts how long it is open each day, how many times you open it, and how long you spend on each part of the app (for example scoring, match stats or profiles). Only these totals are sent to our server, against your account; nothing about what you type or say. We use them to see how the app is used and where to improve it. They are deleted when you delete your account.

Android backup

Android may back up the app's data (matches, profiles and settings) to your own Google Drive as part of your phone's backup, and restore it on a new phone. This is controlled by your phone's backup settings, not by us. The speech model and report files are excluded.

Updates

The app checks Google Play for newer versions when it opens. This check is done by Google Play on your device.

Where your data is kept, and with whom

Our servers are Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions) in Mumbai, India (region asia-south1). Profile pictures you upload are kept in Firebase Storage in the United States (region us-central1). Google processes this data for us under its own privacy and security terms. Open-Meteo receives rounded coordinates for the weather card, as described above.

Google AdMob receives the advertising data described under Advertising. We do not sell your data, and your names, matches and stats are never used for advertising.

Security

All data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Server data is protected by access rules: your profile can be read only by you, your accepted friends and your accepted parents and coach; a match only by the players in it and their accepted parents and coach; your friend list and the numbers you typed only by you.
